Today, I went with co-workers to Dell Diamond in Round Rock, Texas. We were planning the TSTC College Expo we are having at the Round Rock Express baseball game on May 23. It was a fun day!

When I was a kid I remember reading a book called baseball ballerina! The title kind of gives away the plot but it was about a girl who both played baseball and and was a ballerina. All this to be said today reminded me of this childhood book… As I chose a dress I choose one that would work for a baseball game and a dance recital! First up the Baseball game… Unfortunately I forgot to get a pic with the baseball player.
Ok so E looked so sad in the picture I had to post one with her in it even though it does not show the dress that well and even though my sunglasses look like bug eyes in this shot
So now to the dance recital. I wanted to wear the same dress so I changed the look up a little.
Dancers and baseball player did a great job!!!!
It is true some of the fun of wearing dresses is indeed getting to wear the high heeled shoes! I love having fun with the shoes if you have not noticed.
Well Thursday as I planned my wardrobe I began with the shoes. When wearing great shoes one must remember to not overshadow the shoes with the dress… this in mind I chose a simple black dress with a white undershirt to emphasize these great tie up heels!
Day 18 accidentally became about the shoes as soon as I grabbed the necklace I thought “oh my goodness I have got to wear my red heels!” The picture is outside because I wanted to show of how well I matched with my red shades!!!
So today I got to be “shadowed” by one of our precious girls. She is taking a exploring careers class and wants to be a Children’s Minister when she grows up. She knew that I was wearing a dress a day so she chose to. (Look at me infecting the future generation with a love for dresses!) However since she has not had as long to build up her dress collection she requested something black, white, and green. After sending her pictures of four options this is the outfit she chose. (her specific phrase was “yes wear this one tomorrow please”) We had a great day. (or at least I did) Although of all the day was long with really only a short 15 min break and we worked steadily from 8:30-8:30 she was a trooper… I am proud of her… She is going to be a great Children’s Minister!
However I also had AWANA awards night which meant that I needed to wear my AWANA shirt. So at 5pm it was time for a wardrobe change.
Today I took my picture for the photo directory at church. yay mom gets a new picture of me for the wall! I can not believe that we are half way through the month. And I am still actually enjoying this! Forgot to get someone to take a picture of myself again so I am mirroring it again. =( Sorry
Yes I know I have been slacking about posting and writing… life got a little busy. However through it all I rocked the dress/skirts through it all. So lets start at the very beginning… a very good place to start (Sound of Music Anyone???)
Day Ten: Today I worked some more on the cakeballs for my neice’s 2nd Birthday after work and this delayed me in posting for Thursday. However all the baking fit the dress because I always feel like Donna Reed or June Cleaver in this dress. I got it several years back at Target. But it is not your typical Target dress… it is lined and a whole lot nicer quality than typically got at Target
Day 11: Well if Thursday was busy Friday kept up with it! More baking for me! and a pool party and then a drive to Humble to the parentals house… Just before I changed into my swimsuit and previously pictured I realized that I never had stopped long enough to get a picture taken so here I am in my messy room taking a picture of myself. Now for a little bit about this outfit. 1) I love this dress! It is the classic little black dress only in this case it is a sweater dress. During the winter I wear it multiple times a month with various colored leggings and scarfs. 2) I love this scarf! It is the perfect length color and material. I used to have tights that matched it perfectly but alas I got a run in them at the first of the year. 3) I got this dress after I forgot coat one day a year ago. Not wishing to spend a lot of money I ran to my favorite store between classes (Ross Dress for Less) While there I found this dress but it did not have a price tag. I asked how much it was at the checkout as I bought my coat (another favorite) and she told me a price around $10 so I said go ahead and add it to the ticket… then as she was putting it in the bag she realized that it was Calvin Klein! Yes that was supposed to be much more than I got it for. I kind of felt guilty.
Day 12: MY NEICE’s 2nd BIRTHDAY PARTY! Hard to believe that she is two! I wanted something casual though because no one wants to go to a 2 year olds bday party looking too glamorous. After the party we went to my mom’s favorite restaurant and I thought why take a picture by myself when I have my daddy there to take one with me.
Day 13:Mother’s Day Picture- Since it is a special day I decided to go fancy. (so did my mommy! isn’t she pretty!)
Day 14: I had some problems today. I just wanted to put on a pair of shorts and walk out the door but Mom was here and helped me find the casual look that I was needing…
Here is a closeup of the earrings
This is a new dress for me. It’s not exactly the style I normally wear, but I’d like to say that I rocked it! After hemming and hawing about whether to step out in this flowered frock, I remembered that the best accessories are confidence and a big smile. So here I am in a tropical flowered dress that looks like it’s cut to salsa in with a sequined green sweater I’ve been trying to find some way to wear. Thumbs up or down? It was comfortable and super easy for nursing/pumping so that is a plus.
Casual Friday for the win! Today I’m sporting an awesome Peru T-shirt I’m also selling as a fundraiser for my upcoming mission trip to Cusco, Peru with Antioch Community Church. The shirt features an adorable llama and the words “Peru – El les llama suyos” which means “Peru – He calls them His own.”
<solicitation> If you would like to order one please let me know! Just go to our website –www.perufundraiser.com and place you’re order! They’re just $15 ($20 with shipping). Or if you’re in Waco just let me know your order and I’ll connect with you locally. We get $10 from each T-shirt sold.</ solicitation>
So this morning I realized that the DADIM was just about to get a LOT harder. I had three things that my wardrobe had to fulfill. 1) it had to be a dress or a skirt 2) I had to wear my AWANA shirt 3) I had to wear tennis shoes. Oh and did I mention I was going to have these same stipulations on my wardrobe next week. Yes I will admit that I was a tad late to work. So inspired by some of the things that I saw last year on DADIM I got creative. First I took a dress (yall shall see it later in the month because it is one of my favorites) the dress has a navy blue bottom. So I put my polo on over dress…. yeah that did not look so great… then I thought what would I do if this were really a skirt? So I flipped the bottom of the shirt under and up to make it shorter and then put a belt around the bottom. I was actually quite pleased with the result. Tossed my hair up in a ponytail (because by now it was too late to fix it) put on my tennis shoes and ran out the door.
Everyone said I looked like I was in 8th grade… Yikes I lost over a decade!!!
Then I learned that the AWANA kids had reached their missions goal which for me meant a pie in the face…
Here is a collage of my day… top is confidence, bottom left is after I lost over a decade and went back 8th grade… then how I looked by the end of the day.
